Melting Moments (¨®Íù¤l¦±©_»æ)

Ingredients:
Plain flour             100 g
Margarine               75 g
Egg                     1/2 no.
Crushed cornflakes	
Baking powder           1 level tsp.
Castor sugar            75 g
Vanilla essence         1/4 tsp.
Halved glacier cherries


Method: 1. Cream the fat and sugar together in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. 2. Add the egg gradually and continue creaming. 3. Add the vanilla essence. 4. Sift the flour and the baking powder together. 5. Add the flour to the creamed mixture, folding in with a metal spoon. 6. Shape the mixture into little balls. 7. Roll in crushed cornflakes. 8. Place them 2 inches apart on the greased baking tray and flatten each one a little. 9. Press half a cherry on each and bake on the middle shelf of a moderate oven, 190oC (375oF) or Reg. 5, until golden brown (about 15 mins.) 10. Cool on a wire rack. Serve on a plate lined with a doily.
